NMSRT Initiates The New Mexico Society of Radiologic Technologists is proud to initiate the Ward Keller, RT. Radiologic Technologist Education Scholarship. This scholarship is in recognition of Ward Keller’s dedication to his profession, his leadership within the NMSRT, and the giving of himself as a volunteer. Ward Keller was instrumental in bringing the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT) office to Albuquerque, New Mexico. Ward served as Director of Education, Executive Director & CEO of the ASRT. Ward has worked with the NMSRT since 1983. Currently Ward serves as CFO of the New Mexico Society of Radiologic Technologists. His duties include financial officer, handling membership registration and renewals, mentoring the NMSRT officers, and the day to day operations of NMSRT. The last several years Ward has tried to resign his duties with the NMSRT, but when it gets down to the wire he can not bear to retire. Ward works with the committee that hosts the NMSRT annual conference annually, guiding them as they prepare a quality conference. Ward is retired, but was asked by the County of Sandoval to return to oversee the multiple programs he previously administered on behalf of the federal, state, and county agencies. He continually tells the Board of Directors that he is not getting any younger. Along with his work for the NMSRT Ward volunteers for nine other organizations. § Award 1. The recipient of the Ward Keller Scholarship will be awarded a one time disbursement of $300.00. The award will be directly disbursed to the program/institution. § Application Deadline Completed applications and supporting documentation must be postmarked by 4/20/08. Incomplete or late applications will not be reviewed. § Selection and Notification Applicants are not guaranteed a scholarship, but may reapply the following year if eligible. Recipient can only be awarded one scholarship per year. NMSRT board members will review all applications and choose the winner. Recipient will be announced at the annual conference (Need not be present to win). The recipient will be notified by mail and the award winner will be listed on www.nmsrt.org website.
