JCR PUBLISHES GUIDES TO IMPROVING PATIENT CARE, HUMAN RESOURCES

(OAK BROOK, Ill. - December 06, 2004) Joint Commission Resources (JCR) today announced the publication of two new books to help hospitals provide safe, high quality care - "Issues in Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services for Hospitals" and "Issues in Human Resources for Hospitals." JCR is an affiliate of Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.

"Issues in Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services for Hospitals" is the first JCR book to probe the Joint Commission's new Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services standards for hospitals. This book includes practical guidelines, tips and strategies to meet these state-of-the-art expectations. It investigates critical topics including initial assessment, pain management, anesthesia and sedation, and wrong site surgery. "Issues in Provision of Care, Treatment, and Services for Hospitals" is available for $70 using order code PCTSH-01.

Staffing is another challenging area for hospitals. JCR's "Issues in Human Resources for Hospitals" reveals how hospital human resources leaders can use Joint Commission standards to ensure educated, competent, well-trained nurses and other staff. This book provides examples of policies, procedures, forms and checklists. "Issues in Human Resources for Hospitals" is available for $70 using order code HRH-01.
